“Designing for a Circular Economy: The Future of Product Innovation”

Introduction

In a world grappling with resource scarcity, designing for a circular economy is the need of the hour. As a Product Design student, I’ve embraced this approach, focusing on creating products that prioritize reuse, repair, and recycling.

My Approach to Circular Design

  1. Material Selection: I use recyclable materials like aluminum and biodegradable composites to ensure end-of-life sustainability.
  2. Modular Designs: Products with interchangeable parts extend usability and reduce waste. For example, I designed a modular lamp with replaceable components.
  3. Closed-Loop Systems: I consider how products can return to the manufacturing cycle, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.

Why Circular Design Matters:

The future of product innovation lies in sustainability. Circular design offers a roadmap for creating ethical and resource-efficient solutions.
